If you are considering adding a rabbit to your household, MCRS would love to assist you! If you know someone who is looking for a rabbit, send them our way. If you are not looking for a new rabbit at this time, please consider volunteering at one of the events.
Online rabbit reunion
Ever wondered what its like to live with a rabbit? Or maybe you are curious about how a recently adopted rabbit is doing in their new home? Read stories from people who have adopted rabbits on our MCRS Alumni blog. If you have adopted a rabbit from MCRS, or with the assistance of MCRS, we want to hear from you! Send us stories about life with your rabbit.
Several shelter adoption events planned
MCRS will again be partnering with several area shelters to promote rabbits for adoption. If you are considering adopting a rabbit or finding a companion for your current rabbit, this is a great time. MCRS volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and supervise bun-to-bun introductions.
In addition, this year’s Golden Valley event will feature rabbit agility demonstrations at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30. Watch bunnies as they navigate a variety of obstacles.
Even if you aren't in the market to adopt a rabbit, stop by and get a great bunny fix.

MCRS Adoption Event - Richfield PETCO

MCRS will be promoting our own foster rabbits for adoption at the Richfield PETCO. Pre-approved adopters will get the opportunity to mix with several foster rabbits to find just the right one for them.
Pet Expo at Minneapolis Convention Center
Sat, Feb 17 and Sun, Feb 18
Join MCRS at the annual Twin Cities Pet Expo. You can shop for your favorite pet or pet lover at over 150 exhibit booths of pet-related products and services. MCRS will again have a booth, so be sure to stop by and say hi! Fun for the whole family, but please leave your own pet at home.

Bunny Basics classes
Bunny Basics is aimed at people considering a rabbit and people new to rabbits, but even old pros have found the class useful. We cover the basics about living with a rabbit - housing, diet, bunnyproofing, handling, and more! MCRS now has monthly Bunny Basics class offerings in both Woodbury and Savage. Woodbury classes are always the first Thursday of the month. Savage classes are always the third Tuesday of the month. During Adopt a Rabbit month, the classes will be:
- Thursday, Feb 1, 6:30 - 8:00 pm - Humane Society for Companion Animals, Woodbury
- Tuesday, Feb 20, 6:30 - 8:00 pm - Scott County Library, Savage branch
eBay auction fund-raiser planned for last week of February
In support of the education and adoption activities of MCRS, we will be holding another online auction on eBay. Several of the items previewed at the Holiday Boutique last fall will be available for bidding. The auction will run during the last week of February, so stay tuned for details!

MCRS needs your help to make these events a success. As an all-volunteer organization, these events are made possible by individuals just like you that volunteer their time. Please take a minute and let us know if you can help with any of these needs:
Shelter Adoption Event helpers:
- Woodbury - February 3 and February 4, noon - 3 pm or 3 - 6 pm
- Golden Valley - February 11, 11 am - 2 pm or 2 pm to 5 pm
- Coon Rapids - February 11, 11 am - 2 pm or 2 pm to 5 pm
- Burnsville - February 24 and February 25, 11 am - 2 pm or 2 pm to 5 pm
Pet Expo booth:
- Minneapolis - February 17, 3 people and an ambassador rabbit for each shift: 8:30 - 11:30 am, 11:30 - 2 pm, 2 - 4:30 pm, 4:30 - 7 pm
- Minneapolis - February 18, 2 people and an ambassador rabbit for each shift: 9:30 - 12:30 pm, 12:30 - 3:30 pm, 3:30 - 6:30 pm. One additional volunteer needed 11 am - 3 pm
