Adopt-a-Rabbit Month 2009

If you're considering adding a rabbit to your household, now's the time! February is Adopt-a-Rabbit Month, and MCRS would love to assist you! If you know someone who's looking for a rabbit, send them our way. Or, even if you aren't looking for a new rabbit right now, please consider volunteering at one of the many events planned for this month.

Shelter Adoption Events

MCRS will again be partnering with several area shelters to promote rabbits for adoption during the month of February. If you're considering adopting a rabbit or finding a companion for your current rabbit, this is a great time! MCRS volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and supervise bun-to-bun introductions.

In addition, this year's Golden Valley event will feature rabbit agility demonstrations. Watch bunnies as they navigate a variety of obstacles.

Even if you aren't ready to adopt a rabbit, stop by one of the events below and get a great bunny fix!

Bunny Basics Classes

Bunny Basics is aimed at people considering a rabbit and people new to rabbits, but even old pros have found the class useful. We cover the basics about living with a rabbit - housing, diet, bunnyproofing, handling, and more! MCRS now has monthly Bunny Basics class offerings at the Animal Humane Society's Golden Valley and Woodbury locations. Woodbury classes are always the first Thursday of the month. Golden Valley classes are always the second Monday of the month. During Adopt a Rabbit month, the classes will be:

Shelter Adoption Event Volunteers Needed

MCRS needs your help to make these events a success! As an all-volunteer organization, these events are made possible by individuals just like you who volunteer their time. Please take a minute and let us know if you can help with any of these needs:
