June 2005 - Snuggle Bunnies
June's photo was submitted by Karen N, the MCRS Petco Fostering Coordinator. It shows Smokey and Bandit, two adorable full-sized rexes, during their exercise time at Petco Roseville. Karen shared, " I just really enjoy how sweet and affectionate Smokey and Bandit are with each other. They always end the exercise session sacked out together and grooming one another."
Smokey and Bandit came to MCRS at the tender age of 3 months over 200 days ago, in October of 2004. They are still waiting for their forever home. They were recently transferred from Animal Ark to the Roseville PETCO, in hopes that they would find a home in the near future.
During their adolescence, they delighted in destruction - tearing through LOTS of cardboard boxes with glee. They make quite a team! Smokey is the official greeter of the pair - first to check out new people, etc. We think she's really just scamming to see if the new person has any food (she LOVES food!). Bandit tends to be a bit more cautious, but both buns are very loving, and everyone who has met them has fallen for them. Karen, who volunteers regularly exercising and playing with the bunnies residing in the Roseville Petco, confirmed, "Smokey and Bandit have just been stealing my heart the last few weeks, they're soooo sweet!!"
To find out more about Smokey and Bandit, read their profile on Petfinder.com or contact us. Also, please contact us if you are interested in learning more about volunteering to exercise (a.k.a "play with"!) MCRS bunnies in a local Petco. Karen says, "One of my favorite things about volunteering at Petco is getting to know so many buns and trying to figure out what they like to do during their play time."
