Petco and Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society (MCRS) have partnered to promote rabbit adoption. MCRS is replacing the rabbits currently for sale with homeless rabbits seeking permanent homes in every Petco Store in the Twin Cities and we can use your help! Rabbits need exercise and time out of their cage every day in order to play, burn off excess energy, and provide variety. Rabbits who do not get exercise daily can get bored and start acting out.
MCRS is currently looking for volunteers to exercise and socialize adoptable rabbits at the Apple Valley, Eden Prairie, Fridley, Mankato, Maple Grove, and Roseville Petco stores. Each volunteer spends an hour or two weekly letting the rabbits out to romp and play, an important part of their daily activity. On Friday, May 23, over 100 rabbits were confiscated from inhumane living conditions and taken to Animal Humane Society. The shelter contacted MCRS to assist in care and adoption of this overwhelming number of rabbits. Find out more...
